Experience

Where I've built and led.

Product Lead

EventInc GmbH • B2B SaaS Event Platform • Hamburg

Joined to build product strategy from the ground up for a company that had none. Built the strategic foundation, the team's capability framework, and the connective tissue between company direction and daily product decisions, all within the first months.

  • Built a product strategy from the ground up, from company positioning through OKRs to a North Star metric, creating a decision-making stack the team could actually use
  • Collaborated with the tech lead to prototype an AI-powered venue consultant, combining UX thinking with technical architecture into a testable concept
  • Improved product-engineering collaboration through new shaping practices, shielding the team from top-down noise to maintain focus and momentum
  • Built a PM capability framework and rewrote performance objectives into genuine development goals, creating clarity and psychological safety for the product team

Lead Consultant Product Management

Thoughtworks • Global Technology Consultancy • Hamburg

Three and a half years working across automotive, life sciences, and financial services, moving between programs that needed strategy, discovery, or delivery orchestration, sometimes all three at once.

  • Automotive DevEx & AI (75-person program): led product strategy for a developer experience program, defined what good DevEx looks like, built measurement frameworks from scratch, and initiated an AI/MCP-based approach to value tracking
  • Payments Marketplace (major German e-commerce platform, 18-person team): led the redesign of seller onboarding to automate AML/KYC due diligence and risk management, working closely with the compliance team
  • IoT Platform (20-25 person program, life sciences): owned portfolio strategy for a connected device platform, lab equipment generating real-time telemetry feeding into a data and analytics layer, in a heavily regulated environment
  • Coached client-side product teams on outcome orientation, moving teams from feature lists to hypotheses, baselines, and measurable targets

My approach across engagements: extract strategy, set measurable goals, build teams that can run with it. I blend Playing to Win, design thinking, Liberating Structures, and agile/lean, adapted to context, not applied by the book.

Product Coach

codecentric AG • Technology consultancy • Hamburg

  • Acted as interim Product Lead for a two-sided AR/STEM education platform MVP: led user research, shaped product direction, coordinated a reluctant vendor, and supported the founder on investor positioning
  • Stepped into an interim role on a large streaming platform scoped to one data team, and ended up shifting how all teams thought about users, turning siloed delivery into collaborative, user-centered work
  • Coached PMs, POs, and leadership teams on outcome orientation, role clarity, and product strategy across multiple client engagements

Head of Consumer & Apps

moebel.de • B2C eCommerce Platform • Hamburg

  • Led product strategy and customer experience across the full portfolio (international websites, Android/iOS apps, specialist portal) with a team of 8
  • Introduced the company's first user and usability testing practice, establishing measures of success where decisions had previously been made on intuition

Senior Product Manager

Finiata GmbH • AI/ML-based B2B fintech • Berlin

Brought on to diversify an established lender's portfolio: a new AI-based cash flow tool for small businesses who'd been turned down for credit. The strategic bet ultimately didn't hold up, and I was the one who said so.

  • Revalidated inherited research and assumptions before committing to full scope, reduced scope to get the product in front of real users faster
  • Advised sunsetting the product once usability testing and market signals made clear the bet wasn't paying off; it was shut down not long after
  • Built a team culture around adapted ways of working during a fully remote, pandemic-era stretch, with real psychological safety and co-created roadmaps
  • Founded the Product Knowledge Jam, a peer-learning format later adopted as a community of practice model

The product wasn't the success story here. The team was.

Product Coach & Consultant

Freelance

  • Facilitated product and agile workshops for enterprise clients including Innogy and Süddeutsche Verlag while transitioning back from Canada

Senior Product Owner

Telus Digital • Innovation Lab in Telco • Toronto, Canada

  • Transitioned from B2B marketing into eCommerce, coaching a team member into the PO role I vacated
  • Built a new cross-functional team from scratch to own the unified B2B/B2C commerce flow: technical and design audit, product vision, and a roadmap that balanced customer value with flexibility to course correct
  • Drove JTBD interviews, A/B testing, and Design Sprints; promoted to Senior PO based on impact

Product Manager

esome advertising • Social Media AdTech • Hamburg

  • Joined as Junior PM, promoted within 6 months based on impact
  • Owned strategy and execution of an ML-based budget optimization tool for paid social campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter APIs
  • Turned a group of developers into a real team: introduced and adapted Scrum collaboratively, promoted shared QA ownership, and reduced bug rates to the point other teams noticed

Founder

makeupland • B2C eCommerce • Hamburg

An independent online beauty retail business specialising in cruelty-free, partly vegan, and indie makeup brands, founded with KfW startup funding after a formally evaluated business plan. Full-time for two years, then run in parallel with a full-time PM role for another two.

  • Built a values-driven retail concept around ethical sourcing, with a clear market positioning and competitive differentiation
  • Handled end-to-end operations solo: e-commerce platform (OpenCart, later WooCommerce), UI customisation and PHP development, SEO and social marketing, sourcing, and customer experience

Running makeupland taught me things no PM role could: what it feels like when every decision is yours, when the customer relationship is direct and unmediated, and when the gap between a good idea and a working business is entirely your problem to close. It's why I never romanticise "just ship it" - I know what shipping actually costs.

How I lead

A few things I keep coming back to.

01

Clarity before speed

Teams move faster once they understand why, not just what. I'd rather spend a week creating a decision framework than watch a team spend a quarter building the wrong thing quickly.

02

Ways of working, not by the book

Scrum, Shape Up, Liberating Structures: all useful, none sacred. I adapt process to the team in front of me, and I've never regretted throwing out a framework that wasn't earning its keep.

03

Honest signal over comfortable narrative

At Finiata I advised killing a product I'd help build, because the market told us to. The team we built along the way was the actual win. I'd rather be right early than right eventually.

04

Domain-agnostic, curiosity-first

Fintech, IoT, streaming, events, payments: I've moved between all of them and gotten to grips with each faster than expected. New domains don't intimidate me. Not knowing something yet is just information I don't have.

Writing and speaking on product craft.
